Let’s talk about you. What would you say is your biggest problem today? Is it health? Relationships? Finances? The first step to solving any problem is to identify that there is indeed a problem. Determine what that problem is, and then begin searching for strategies to solve it.

Many of us recognize that we would like to:

• be more connected to others,

• be at a healthier body weight

• have more energy

• live happier, healthier lives

But the distance between where we are and where we want to be seems like a chasm wider than the Grand Canyon! Change is not as hard as you think. You just need the right mindset and the right tools.


We all have goals, but we often fall short of those goals. Why are we sometimes undisciplined in the pursuit of our goals? It’s not because there’s anything wrong with us, and it’s not because there’s anything wrong with our goals. It’s because we don’t have a compelling vision that motivates us to stick to the plan.  What vision do you have for your life? What goals would you like to accomplish? How would you like to leave your mark on the world? None of those things will be possible if your health is a wreck. Your health is your number one asset. Without it you can’t make money and you can’t have solid relationships. When your health is in crisis, everything else takes a back seat.

Regardless of your current health challenges, the foundation for alleviating, healing, or in many cases, preventing disease in the first place begins with facilitating your body’s inborn ability to adapt to and recover from stress.

We All Have Stress

We all have stress — it’s inescapable. Stress is the pandemic of our modern world. It will likely kill you before Ebola, HIV, or the Avian Flu; and chronic stress will wreak havoc with your health.  Do have high blood pressure? Low thyroid function? High cholesterol? Are you overweight?

Many would say all of these things are abnormal.  I don’t agree. They are in fact normal, necessary and good. They are the normal physiological adaptations to stress. The real problem is that your body has lost the ability to return to a state of homeostasis — that place of rest and regeneration that is the essence of true health. If someone gives you a pill to silence these symptoms, they are not doing you any favors. These symptoms are messengers telling you that the stress on your body is too much, and you’d better do something about it!

Unhealthy Anonymous has a vision. The vision is for a new conversation to emerge about what it means to be truly healthy. We have a vision for a community of people seeking answers to their health challenges and finding them. A vision of becoming the healthiest and happiest people on the planet.
